Reconstitution des paléogéographies karstiques par l'approche cartographique 3D : Application au Pont d'Arc et à la Combe d'Arc (Ardèche, France).

Abstract : The Pont d’Arc, very famous opening of the Ardeche canyon, highly stresses the landscape with its height and its proximity with the well-known Chauvet cave, filled with the most ancien rock art ever discovered. Relationships between Man and environment are at the center of the current research topics on prehistory and if the Pont d’Arc is currently a major landform of the Ardèche river, it may have not been the case during prehistorical occupation because of landscapes evolution during the quaternary period. How can we reconstruct the disappeared paleogeographies of the Combe d’Arc during prehistorical occupation? Did the geomorphological processes and climatic evolutions change the Pont d’Arc and Combe d’Arc landscapes? We propose a 3D methodology to reshape the Combe d’Arc landscapes according to the alluvial fluctuations of the Ardèche river from the late glacial eras until today. High resolution 3D tools allow to reshape alluvial landscapes, putting field data into a 3D model
