Téléalimentation acoustique pariétale

Abstract : This thesis focuses on the use of acoustic waves to transmit energy wirelessly from a transmitter to a receiver, for example to power and communicate with remote sensors. This technique is particularly interesting when electromagnetic waves, widely deployed until now, are not usable. This work focused on the transmission of electrical power from one side to the other of metallic walls, which absorb electromagnetic waves and make conventional electromagnetic techniques unusable.The system is generally composed of two piezoelectric transducers which are glued aligned on both sides of a metallic wall. An AC electrical excitation applied on the first piezoelectric transducer results in its expansion and contraction and consequently, in the emission of acoustic waves in the wall. These waves propagate in the wall and reach the second piezoelectric transducer which converts this mechanical excitation into electricity that can be used to power electronic devices.The interest and feasibility of this technology has already been proven on several occasions. In this work, we studied how to improve and facilitate the use of existing systems. This has been done through new modeling, allowing for example to model transducer stacks. New strategies have been studied and experimentally validated to improve of facilitate the use of acoustic power transfer through metal wall. Let us note for example the study of the use of several transmitters to focus the acoustic waves in different areas via electronic control. This solution allows a very significant increase of the transmitted power for the supply of scattered transducers. It hence opens new perspectives for acoustic power transfer and communication.
